Basic safety training (B-VCA) for operational staff

Training is an important criterion for SCC certification. For instance, all operational employees must hold an SCC 'Basic Safety' diploma. All employees performing high-risk tasks must also have received specific education and training for this purpose.

To raise safety awareness among employees to a good level, safety training for operational staff is necessary. Employees must be able to demonstrate their basic safety knowledge by means of an SCC-accredited 'diploma'. Specifically, all operational employees must hold an SCC 'Basic Safety' diploma, issued by a recognised examination centre, that is not older than ten years (counting from the examination date). Safety training for operational managers

Training is an important criterion for SCC certification. For instance, all operational employees must hold an SCC 'Basic Safety' diploma. All employees deployed for high-risk tasks must have specific knowledge and skills related to the specific high-risk tasks they have to perform. All persons supervising operational employees must hold an SCC diploma 'Safety for Operational Managers'. All employees performing high-risk tasks must also have received specific education and training for this purpose.

To ensure proper integration of the safety concept, it is necessary that all operational managers have successfully completed HSE training and have the required qualifications. They must demonstrate this through an SCC-accredited 'diploma'. Specifically, all persons in charge of operational staff must hold an SCC 'Safety for Operational Managers' diploma, issued by a recognised examination centre, which is not older than ten years (counting from the examination date). Training Risky Tasks

Training is an important criterion for SCC certification. Thus, all operational employees must have specific knowledge and skills related to specific high-risk tasks or work to be performed by them within the company in a high-risk environment.

For SCC certification, companies must demonstrate this by means of an overview of specific training and experience requirements classified by function/task and in accordance with the requirements laid down in the "Register of Risky Tasks". Companies must then ensure that the specific training and experience requirements are met. This applies to all companies and not just to work in the (petro)chemical industry! Working in (petro)chemistry does require mandatory post-training testing for a number of tasks.
